The Power of a Growth Mindset

growth mindsetHave you ever thought about the power and impact of a growth mindset?

Our mindsets have a tremendous influence on us as well as those around us.

The growth mindset sees the world differently than a mindset that does not want to venture beyond the stats quo. Growth wants improvement and change. The status quo mindset just wants to keep their world the same.

We have the power to choose our mindset and, in turn, much of what happens in our lives.

Here are a few reasons why you may want to consider a growth mindset:

Achieve More.

With a growth mindset we will achieve more, because we are not satisfied with the status quo. We want to grow, so we aim higher than where we are. When we aim higher we will achieve more, make more progress, and grow.

Creates Purpose.

When our mindset is growth then we have a purpose for getting up every day. Our purpose becomes one of growth: growth of our people, growth of our customers and growth of our companies.

Influence Others.

Our growth mindset has the opportunity to influence others. As we are working on growth, we develop a more positive attitude and this can impact our co-workers, our customers, and our families. We have a great opportunity to influence others and make a difference in their lives when we have a growth mindset.

Generate Perseverance.

The best way to make it through challenging times and situations is to have a clear vision of where we are going, and that is a result of having a growth mindset. Perseverance helps us achieve our goals and we are more likely to make progress toward our goals with a growth mindset.

Promotes Continuous Improvement.

When we have a growth mindset we continually strive to improve our people, our customers, our companies, and our families. When we have a mindset of maintaining the status quo we do not have a reason to improve and so we stagnate. If we want more from ourselves, and more for our people as well as our customers, we should adopt a growth mindset for continuous improvement.

A growth mindset is very powerful in achieving more, creating purpose, and making a difference in the lives of other people.

What has helped you create a growth mindset and what are the lessons learned?

Melissa, great thought that a growth mindset keeps you from becoming complacent. I agree that when we keep setting goals we do not settle but keep moving especially if we are passionate about the goals and they fit into our life purpose.
